International Shipping & Customs Policy

This International Shipping & Customs Policy forms part of our Shipping Policy and applies to all orders shipped outside the European Union.
We proudly ship worldwide using DHL Express, DHL Economy Road (where available), and FedEx (excluding Russia & Belarus).
Please note that customs regulations vary from country to country. We encourage you to review the information below before placing your order.
1. What Is Included in Your Order Total?
Your checkout total includes:
- ✔️ Product cost
- ✔️ Shipping cost
Any prepaid import duties and taxes, only when displayed during checkout for eligible destinations
Unless import duties and taxes are collected during checkout, any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage, clearance, or handling fees charged by your country's customs authority or courier remain the responsibility of the recipient.
2. Customs Documentation
To ensure your order clears customs as smoothly as possible, we prepare all required export documentation, including:
- Complete product description
- Detailed packing list
- Accurate commercial invoice
- Declared shipment value
- Payment confirmation (when required)
- FDA Prior Notice for all food shipments to the United States
To comply with international customs regulations, we cannot:
- Declare a lower shipment value
- Mark commercial orders as gifts
- Alter customs documentation
- Bypass import regulations
3. Country-Specific Information
🇺🇸 United States (DHL Express & FedEx)
All food shipments include the required FDA Prior Notice before export.
For shipments to the United States, all applicable import duties and taxes are calculated and displayed during checkout.
The amount shown during checkout is the only import cost you will pay.
There are no additional customs duties, import taxes, or DHL/FedEx clearance or disbursement fees payable upon delivery.
This means your order arrives without unexpected customs charges.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom (DHL Express & DHL Economy Road)
Orders shipped to the United Kingdom may be subject to import VAT, customs duties, and courier clearance fees in accordance with UK customs regulations.

Orders ≤ £135: 20% VAT (no duty)

Orders > £135: 20% import VAT + possible duty + DHL clearance fee
All fees calculated by UK Border Force.
🇳🇴 Norway (DHL Express & FedEx)
Norway is not part of the European Union.
Orders shipped to Norway may be subject to:
- Norwegian VAT (MVA)
- Customs duties (where applicable)
- Courier clearance or handling fees
These charges are determined by Norwegian Customs and/or the courier and, unless prepaid during checkout, are payable by the recipient.
Other International Destinations
For all other countries outside the European Union, customs regulations vary depending on local laws.
Your shipment may be subject to:
- Import duties
- VAT or GST
- Customs processing fees
- Courier brokerage or clearance charges
Any such charges that are not prepaid during checkout are collected by your local customs authority or courier before delivery.
4. Delivery Times
- Most orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days (Monday–Friday).
- Delivery estimates begin once your order has been dispatched.
- Customs inspections may occasionally extend delivery times beyond the courier's estimated transit time.
- Couriers do not normally deliver on weekends or public holidays.
- If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the courier will arrange a new delivery or provide collection instructions.
5. Refused Shipments & Returns
If an order is refused because import charges are not paid (where applicable):
- The shipment will be returned to us.
- Refund requests may be submitted by contacting us.
Refunds are subject to the following conditions:
- Products must be unopened, unused, and in their original condition.
- Returned items must arrive back to us within 15 days of their return shipment.
The refund will cover the value of the products only.
The following costs will be deducted from the refund where applicable:
- Original shipping charges
- Return shipping charges
- Customs duties, taxes, or administrative fees that cannot be recovered
- Courier handling or processing fees
No refund can be issued for opened, used, damaged, or non-resalable products.
6. Before You Place Your Order
By placing an order with The Olivest, you acknowledge that:
- Customs regulations differ by country.
- Import duties and taxes are your responsibility unless they are collected during checkout.
- All customs declarations must accurately reflect the purchase price.
- Customs inspections may occasionally delay delivery.
- Refusing to pay applicable import charges may reduce or eliminate your refund after return shipping and other non-recoverable costs are deducted.
- Import fees, taxes, and courier charges are determined by customs authorities and/or the shipping carrier and may change without prior notice.
