Shipping Policy

Thank you for visiting and shopping at www.theolivest.com. This Shipping Policy outlines the terms and conditions that apply to all orders placed through our website.

1. Shipment Processing Time

All orders are processed within two (2) business days (48 hours), regardless of whether the selected shipping service is Express or Economy. Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or public holidays.

During periods of high order volume, shipments may experience slight delays. If there is a significant delay in the shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.

2. Shipment Confirmation & Order Tracking

You will receive an Order Confirmation email once your order is placed. Once your order has shipped, a Shipment Confirmation email will be sent containing your tracking number and carrier details.

3. Damages During Shipping

The Olivest is not liable for products damaged or lost during shipping. If your order arrives damaged, please contact the shipping carrier directly to file a claim. Be sure to retain all packaging materials and damaged goods before filing a claim.

4. European Union (EU) Shipping

4.1 EU Shipping Carriers

Shipping within Europe is handled by:

• DHL Economy Road: 4–7 business days

• DHL Express: 2–3 business days

4.2 Free Shipping Within the EU

Free shipping is available for EU orders over €249 EUR (VAT included) when shipped via DHL Economy Road.

Excluded countries where DHL Economy Road is not supported:

• Malta, Cyprus, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Russia, Montenegro

Finland & Norway: Free shipping is available for orders over €400 EUR (VAT included) via DHL Economy Road.

5. International Shipping & Customs (Outside the EU)

We ship worldwide using DHL Express and FedEx, except to Russia and Belarus. Customs regulations vary by country, so please review the following information carefully before placing your order.

5.1 What’s Included in Your Order Total

Your checkout total includes:

• Product cost

• Shipping cost

It does not include customs duties, import taxes, or courier handling fees. Any such charges are the responsibility of the recipient and must be paid directly to customs authorities or the courier.

5.2 Customs Documentation

We prepare and submit all required customs documentation, including:

• Full product list and description

• Declared value (products + shipping)

• Payment confirmation

• For U.S. orders: FDA Prior Notice is filed prior to arrival.

Declared values cannot be altered, items cannot be marked as gifts, and customs regulations cannot be bypassed.

5.2.1 🇬🇧 United Kingdom Customers (DHL Express & DHL Economy)

Customs fees are determined by UK Border Force in accordance with official GOV.UK regulations:

• Orders ≤ £135: 20% VAT (no customs duty)

• Orders > £135: 20% import VAT + possible customs duty + DHL clearance fee

5.2.2 🇳🇴 Norway Customers (DHL Express & DHL Economy)

Norway is not part of the European Union and all shipments are subject to Norwegian customs regulations. Orders shipped to Norway may incur:

• Norwegian VAT (MVA), currently 25%, calculated on the product value plus shipping

• Possible customs duties depending on product classification

• Courier clearance and handling fees charged by DHL or FedEx

All fees are calculated and collected by Norwegian Customs and/or the courier and must be paid by the recipient before delivery. We are required to declare the full and accurate value of the shipment and cannot mark orders as gifts or reduce declared values.

5.2.3 🇺🇸 United States Customers (DHL Express & FedEx)

Important update effective August 29, 2025:

• FDA Prior Notice is filed by us for all food shipments

• The previous USD 800 duty-free (de minimis) exemption has been removed

• All shipments are now subject to duties, taxes, and customs assessment

Indicative charges:

• Minimum duty for EU-origin goods (including olive oil): 15%

• FedEx disbursement fees: typically 2–3%*

• DHL disbursement fees: typically USD 17*

* Fees may vary by order value and are charged directly by the courier.

6. Delivery Times

• Orders typically ship within 48 hours (Monday–Friday), Small delays may occur during heavy workload periods.

• No deliveries are made on weekends or public holidays

• If delivery is missed, the courier will attempt redelivery or provide further instructions

7. Refusal to Pay Import Fees

If a shipment is refused due to unpaid customs or import fees:

• The parcel will be returned to us automatically

• You may request a refund by contacting theolivest@gmail.com

Refund conditions:

• Products must be unused, sealed, and in perfect condition

• Returned within 15 days of first arrival in your country

• Refund applies to the product cost only

Deductions may include:

• Original shipping cost

• Return shipping cost

• Customs duties, taxes, or administrative fees

• Non-recoverable courier charges

Products returned used or damaged are not eligible for a refund.

8. Shipping Costs & Weight Calculation

Shipping charges are calculated and displayed at checkout.

• Prices shown are indicative and confirmed at checkout

• Prices exclude emergency surcharges or additional carrier fees

• Rates may change without prior notice due to carrier adjustments

Shipping costs are based on the higher of actual or volumetric weight.

Volumetric weight formula:
L × W × H / 5000 (air transport)

9. Before You Order

By placing an order, you confirm that:

• Import duties and taxes are your responsibility

• Declared values accurately reflect the price paid

• Delivery timelines may be affected by customs clearance

• Refusal to pay import fees may reduce or eliminate your refund
